Disinfect, Declutter and Destress: Bathroom Edition

For anyone living a busy household (which is most of us!), communal areas such as the bathroom tend to pose a particular problem. That is, how do you keep such spaces tidy and organised? There’s often a lot going on, and many different bits and pieces that need to be neatly arranged. Even for the tidiest of us, it can be stressful to figure out where to start. In this week’s article, we’ll be giving you some tips and tricks to help you kickstart your spring cleaning.

Step 1: Throw out what you don’t need

Let’s face it – many of us are holding onto things that have no purpose in our homes anymore. That’s why it’s so important to start any cleaning process by getting rid of what is no longer serving us. This can include expired or empty makeup, nearly-empty products such as shampoo and liquid soaps, rusty razors and many more. From here, sort through your items and arrange into different categories for easy storage later.

Step 2: Clean, clean, clean

Once your shelves are empty, it’s prime time to get cleaning. Head on in with all your cleaning arsenal to rid your storage spaces of any dust, dirt or grime.

Step 3: Devise a plan

Since you’ve already categorised your products and bathroom objects, it shouldn’t be too difficult to then assign them different places in your cupboards. It’s a great idea to introduce clear containers at this stage; this will allow you to see what’s inside while also keeping everything separate. Get labelling if you want to as well! Organisation is often a personal thing, so use a system that makes sense to you.

Once you’ve followed the 3 steps above, it’s time to step back and admire your amazing organisational skills. You can also consider adding a little greenery or candles for some decoration, or keep everything minimal if that’s more your style.
